|
on: December 02, 2013, 08:38:47 AM
|
Hi there, This is a moving sale of parts that I've been keeping for possible future projects that probably will take some considerable years to eventuate and take up valuable storage space at the new abode. FE - EK wagon tow bar (no tongue) - $30 FE - FC wheel rim, riveted type. Good condition but tyre worn - $10 Tailshaft to suit FE – EK with Trimatic Trans & HR Diff. - $30 FE – EK radiator – Good condition (but not tested) - $30 Thermo fan to suit FE – EK - $25 FE – FC Windscreen. Has a slight scratch on drivers side from a wiper so there’s a chance it might not be roadworthy, but will still keep the rain out - Free Set Tramp Rods to suit EJ - EH With extended spring hanger bolts. Old school style - $30. VC Commodore V8 radiator, looks ok but not tested - $20 All parts open to offers. Contact Leigh (in Melbourne SE) - 0404 177752

Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Canvas Water Bag

The water is meant to seep out. It uses the same process as humans sweating to keep the contents cool. New bags need to be soaked for a few days to help the fibre swell and that will slow the seapage to a reasonable rate.

For Sale and Wanted / Reproduction Parts / Re: SAVE $$ Parts Catalogue 1948 - 1967 complete
|
on: June 29, 2011, 12:58:03 PM

Received my copy and more than happy. Having pictures of what you're going to pull apart takes a lot of "oh bugger" out of a rebuild or modification. It shows where that left over mystery screw or part fits when you put it back together again. With this pdf version, being able to print out just the page with the image of what you're working on saves getting the "good" manual dirty or spilling stuff on it (speeking from an unfortunate experience) Great idea, thanks FE 4 ME

For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: FC V8 sedan
|
on: May 31, 2011, 01:54:58 PM

Sorry for the delay in replying but I've been on the road and no pc for a while. John - I won't recommend who did the headers as they started out rubbish cost a lot and a good mate (who can weld properly) had to wash over the awfull welding with a tig to make it look decent. It's a front mount CRS r&p f/end. Ed - The new project is a 253 FC wagon cheers, Leigh

Hi all, Has anybody used or know of the supplier in Victoria for front crossmembers based on Torana front end but modified to suit FE-HR. They're sort of a Pat Gardner type look alike. A number or name will be muchly appreciated. Thanks, Leigh

Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Harmonic balancer
|
on: February 17, 2011, 01:46:08 PM

Hi Rhonnda, Yes the flywheel thingy is part of the unit and is the balance weight. It sounds like that and the rubber bushing has gone bye-byes. I had this happen on my old FC years back and if it comes off while running it usually does a fair bit of damage to the fan blades. The engine will run without it but be very harsh and put undue stress on the crankshaft. Replacing it should be done sooner than later. cheers, Leigh
