Hi,Anyone know how to water proof an old canvas water bag that hangs on the front of the car to stop
the water from seaping out.It is a new old one that has never been used.
Any help would be great.
Thanks Iris

The water is meant to seep out. It uses the same process as humans sweating to keep the contents cool. New bags need to be soaked for a few days to help the fibre swell and that will slow the seapage to a reasonable rate.

G'day Iris,
If it's a new bag the first thing you should do is fill it with HOT water.
This seems to seal it quite quickly. As FCwagon says, it swells the fibres.
The seepage should not be too evident, but the outside of the bag should be VERY damp, with no drips.
You'll be amazed how cool the water keeps.
Cheers,
Gaz.
