Well, you might have missed the original deadline "by that much" (to quote Maxwell Smart), but the car is an amazing credit to you and your perseverance.

Page 57 of the thread seems like an appropriate point to declare it "done". Congrats, mate.

See you in a couple of weeks.

cheers

And what of the support (dogs) that started out with you in the early days?
Hope they are still around to see the end result.

Thank you for all of your support, I hope the 57 pages have been a good read.
Sadly there is only one of the dogs still around. The Blue Healer cross was a shop dog who got off the lead never to be seen again, and Deefa who was with me everywhere the Jack Russell in some of the snaps came with me to New Zealand passed away in 2014 from liver cancer. I believe Buster the Jack Russell sleeping next to Deefa on the front seat is still going strong and still lives in Cairns.
Cheers

Well done JB, haven't been on the forum much lately. The ute looks absolutely fantastic, unfortunately I can't make the Nationals this time but should make Canberra for the next one.

Not on here very often anymore mate.
What can I say that everyone else hasn't already said, mate I'm with them. The part that I won't like at the Nats is that I won't be able to see it and you.
Because there will be people 10 deep all around the ute so I won't be able to get near it.ha ha
Can't wait to catch up again mate, I hope Niki is coming as well.
Cheers Scotty

Congratulations JB, awesome looking ute with so much innovation. Most importantly, well done on actually getting the ute finished as we all know it is extremely hard to stay focused and enthusiastic at times. Cheers, Jamie.

Hi all,

The Nationals has come and gone. What a great weekend it was catching up with a lot of great people who I had met in Jindabyne and also some friends from Cairns and Townsville. Plus all of the new ones.
For those who have been waiting, here are some of the completed build photos.

Cheers,
JB

Yes...

It needs sway bars, as it gets a little rolly when upset on the road.
Front screen leaks.
Condensation from air cond entering cabin... Could be a leak in the drain.
Transport company tried to wind down the passenger window, even though there was a note stating they were electric and not to touch them... Stuffed the switch and the window didn't work for the whole weekend.
Need to change the rear shocks to lift it an inch, the springs are close to binding at the moment with the added weight of the tonneau, tools that I had in the back and a full fuel tank.
The fuel cap is venting fuel... Lots of fuel out. I am going to revise the filling point.
Then the stuff I couldn't get finished before the Nats, like a final touch up of the paint and getting the runs out etc and a buff.
Straightening the side pipe, and changing the pipes over to the side now it is registered.
Need to fix the door rubbers as well, they are letting in too much noise and have little tears in them from when I tried to fix this problem the first time.
A lead that is on an extractor so I need to get a 45 deg angle one to clear.
A pulley that is noisey... Could be bearings or a belt... Suspecting bearings.

It all will be sorted in time. But the car ran very well and is making the right noises. Happy days to have it on the road.

Cheers
JB
