Well tanks back,, Reg did a good job.  $160 to weld in new location. This should now be closer to the back of the passenger side inner mud guard. Hope to have the filler in the same location as a wagon or ute. 

Looks patchy from the bath it took, Will use my KBS tank kit to wash and paint the inside. Will then get it in the car and think about the filler pipe.
 


On another matter has anyone fixed up there rear spring hangers them selves or is it just one things better to just buy them new..??   The Bolts are a bit worn on mine was thinking cutting the bolts out and replacing with some grade 8 bolts.

Cut and welded in the filler panel piece I had



Cleaned up the tank ready for KBS treatment
 

Also brought a Tacho to pull apart and incorporate into a FC Speedo



Has any one done a speedo conversion into KM and how did you get around the etch numbers in the bezel plastic Huh

Got a little distracted from the fuel tank picked up a old drill press $31, brought her back to life with a rebuild.

Its so funny how relaxed things were.  I do admit the picture does not have the original belt guard on the the front as I had not finished it at that photo taken time, but its just at the front and does not cover the full length of the belt ..  The below picture from the internet of the small cover I am talking about ..  Cheesy

Well Tank has been painted inside with KBS tank sealer and has had two coats on the top of KBS rust seal. Just the bottom to do and its complete

Good progress Cam.  Mine is at a mate's workshop hopefully getting the subframe repairs done finally.... Once that is done only have to plug in number plate light, adjust handbrake, work out a way to secure the base of the back seat and redirect the front brake hoses away from the upper ball joint then good for RWC and rego.....

Isn't that KBS good stuff ? ,I have put some Black Hi Gloss on with brush ,really soft brush and warmed the paint up ,and " sopped " it on ..very happy with result..

 Its amazing stuff the finish with just a brush is mind blowing..  One day we will be able to just paint our cars with a brush

Well The bottom of the tank is now coated in rust seal, next is a coat of the black top coat from KBS which should dry hard and protect the tank a bit more, as it hangs blow the car.

Added a piece to hold the filler pipe in place. Should be hidden behind the pipe  and connected to the wheel well



Also did some work on the tacho conversion. have the older one ready to meet the new


also made a plate to have the old inner parts meet the new. thinking I might just have some text in the mile slot. Ie. RPM x1000

Hi all  Did a little work on the Tacho.  Looking good so far   

Welded up the new to old housings and converted the needle to fit the new tacho shaft (which was larger)



Quick test run, works fine
  Quick vid here

Next need to work out small sticker (RPM x1000), Numbers, bezel, and lighting make sure it all lights up fine.

You should be able to get the stickers you need from someone that makes signs, I got (brake fail ) done in reverse so I could stick it on the inside of the glass.
