The engine mounts are already at the back of the crossmember. I hate buying stuff second hand, when i bought the motor i was told he took it out of a eh ute. well thats going to slow me up.

The engine mounts should be moved further back for FE-EKs if you plan to run an engine fan. The rear of the mount should hanging of the back of the crossmember ACE

Ok i have fixed the sump, fitted the engine and started the engine. The engine mounts on the crossmember are not far enough back. Ill drop out the crossmember and fix that soon.

If you haven't grown up by 50, you don't have to.

Im at the same stage thats all and mine is pitted to buggery. Did the primer come up on and fill the pin sized holes. I think the metal is fairly thick so I was gunna keep going until I get it smoother.

ok, i used a rust converter that turned it all black, gave that a very light sand and then about 3 coats of primer/filler rubbed it back with 240 dry paper, took a fair bit off, then 360 dry paper and its nice and smooth and has a slight shine to it. I had to fill a few very light dents that i had taken out with spot filler and now i just have to give it a another thick coat and another light sand to put the colour on. But i won't be doing that until i get the door jams and rear guards prepped for primer.

Ive worked out i have 18 full days i can work on my FC before the Nationals. What are the chances its going to be finished? But im still doing what i can when i can. im happy with this guard and how its come up, shouldnt need too much filler, the other guard is also good to go. I had to rebuild the lower door section and had nothing to go by as they where rusted away, but got lots of pictures from this forum to go by. seat belt mount
