G'Day JB. Doing a good job mate. Don't want to put a damper on your work but my engineer wants at least 15 to 20 mm clearance on steering and extractor components. I told him he is dreaming as some of the production vehicles have far less. Will see how it goes when i get there. In the day 10 mm was all that was required. Just looking at your steering and it looks like you will be pushing even that clearance. May pay to check with your engineer before you go any further.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks Brett,

My engineer is a 10mm bloke... Today I have had the front end out to modify it a little, and while it was out smoothed the gap between the steering arm and the sub frame.

The engine is now in and will go to get the extractors made hopefully Thursday.

Haven't seen any snaps of yours lately.. Where you up to with it?

Cheers

JB,
Got the car back from the trimmers last week. Had to wait for some black windlace from the states so he could put the roof lining in. Also had the front and rear screens put in at the same time. Starting to look completed. Have to do a little bit of internal wiring and then it goes back to the trimmers as he wants to install the front and rear seats and carpet. I think he wants to be a part of the completed project. Can't complain as he is going the extra mile for me. Will get some photo's up shortly but as you know shortly could be longer. Not sure where you are located but i have an unbelievable exhaust bloke that did two lots of extractors for me both within two days and very reasonably priced. (I wasn't happy where the motor was positioned the first time). He is located in geelong..
Let me know if you want his number. Regards brett

Some more progress...

As of this morning they have just been tacked up but most likely done by now. Should have the car back next Thursday after the Jet Hot Coating has been applied.

Can wait to hear this thing run!  Grin

Looking good JB!

I dont suppose they come out unless the engine is pulled?

get rid of the std rocker gear.. I kept breaking bridges, they are extremely weak.

Cheers

Thanks Ed,

They are being designed to come out, the drivers will come out after the steering has been removed.

Rockers are being looked at when the engine gets the new cam in it as well as a new set of seals.

Cheers,

Gidday JB,
Managed to get my motor running last week, there's nothing like a running motor to get you motivated again!. I'm glad I've finally got past the wiring stage. I hope you get a kick out of seeing your motor running like I did. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Jack

Gotta love it when new stuff starts arriving!!

Thanks to Paul from Ireland for selling me his plates, I think that they will look great on the ute!!!

Pick it back up on Tuesday from the exhaust place... and in the mean time had a win with HSV who sent me a copy of the wiring diagrams for the ISS (HSV security) to hopefully be able to start the engine. Youtube to follow for that day!

Cheers
