I wondered about the different stamping too. Is it possible that the first batch off the line might have been hand built pilot cars?

Maybe if they were FEs.  But there's not sufficient difference between FE and FC to warrant hand-building any.  A lot of Sydney built FJs and FEs have that half-machine-stamped/half-hand-stamped look about their ID plates.

seems like wives are a common problem here.

whats the general consensus about FE's dressed up as FC's (i've just fought one where I found an "E" on the ID plate and a No. plate surround on the bumper and eng no. are the only give away)

Hi there minifcvan (and everyone),

Here is an update on the cars.  They have not sold and they are no longer for sale.  My wife and I have decided to change a few things around in our lives and the FC(s) are to be a part of it. If all goes well I intend on starting the rebuild in a few months. When it gets started I will have to post more pics. There is no timeframe for the rebuild but we have agreed the sooner the better.

To those that were possibly thinking about buying them I apologise for the turn around. Funny how things in your life can change.  I am now really looking forward to getting the old girl up and running.

Cheers

Good decision Carl, look up the guys at the ACT Club and you'll get plenty of friendly advice and assistance for your project.

As you say, keep on posting progress pics.

Cheers,

Craig.
