It does come with the bracket. The one thing if its not a metal shell its plastic with what looks like a chrome paint. Mine has a couple of small imperfections that are had to find. But other wise its looks great. And for the price I found it hard to go past.

Nearly finished..  just a little more cleanup to go





I do have a question Huh? ...  Does the small angle piece that holds the door seal, does it continue all the way to the door sill plate. See the gap in the picture below..  I have a feeling I have cut it off...

Cam,

Short answer - yes.  The weatherseal retainer continues all the way to the scuff plate.

The retainer goes just until the 45-degree section of the scuff plate, which is where the dogleg/inner wheel arch steps down to be level with the sill.  That's odd.  Your scuff plate is cut square at the rear.  Maybe this is another Special/Standard difference.

Cam ..My Special FC sedan,rear seal , yes the seal channel goes up to and under the scuff plate about an inch ,and the scuff plate is arrow head in shape ,yours looks to be cut off square ,and that observation is supported by your windlacing tunnel looking a bit short ..I have followed your resto with interest , your a gifted bloke doing excellent work ,along with many others on here ...keep well Vern .

Hi Cam,

I had a look at mine. Drivers side goes up to 7-8mm prior to the scuff plate, while the passenger side is approximately level (1mm). This area is unmolested on mine but maybe more so due to when the sills were replaced many moons ago and the scuff plates aren't entirely centred when the holes were redrilled.



I like the grill badge. I was unaware that there was repro's. Thanks for sharing.

I now finished both left and right ends of the sills , I also add a little more metal to the front of the guards, made them hang down just a little bit more 

   

Next the inner guard, already have my piece cut to finish the inner guard

Ok inner guard welded in just got to clean it up



also picked up some repo scratch plates, and like the grill badge look really nice.



I do have a question on the original or repo scratch plates ...  do they wear away at the door paint over time?HuhHuh.    and has any one put something behind them to stop the movement ?

Are they the plates from rotary products? Good value at $149 for a set of 4. Can't wait to see your car done.

Yes they are good. Put a pair on my ute recently and didn’t put anything behind but was thinking some mastic would be the go.

The originals don’t wear away the paint from my experience. I think it depends on how good the fit is from the repro. If it contacts the paint smoothly it won’t be a problem

Mine weren’t a perfect fit I’ll say that. Sit proud slightly at the bottoms if I recall.

Got busy and made 3/4 of my chassis strengthening bars, will make the rest once front k frame is on.

First crush tubes front and rear


Made clearance for rear foot wells


Then repeat, and you have two.

Final patch for the floor now going in. Now that the crush bolts are done for the chassis strengthening..  Have some sort of celebration for completing the floor.. Grin

Just some more rust being removed

Cut out and rust treated, and weld thru primer


Weld in metal


Grind, sand and paint
