Pete -everything seemed to fit fine.  The screw holes are spot on and it all lines up.

Ken - the clips aren't right.  The front has been off it at some stage and I need to sort it out.  There are some tabs bent and others sticking straight out.  I will have to take it apart and put it back together properly.

Pete - you're a champ.

Cheers

Something DJ spotted Check out the original clock pic on the first page of this thread the holes for mounting the clock  are opposite to the 3D sketch
Also the radius is a lot larger.

I have sent a few out and would rather get this sorted.
Maybe i should borrow a clock to correct this.
for those that have received them or will be receiving them this week as i posted some please let me know if they are no good.

I would agree on both points, the bend radius should suit the clock body. From memory the clock I had in the van was somewhat universal in the way it was mounted. It could suit either diagonal with a little rearrangement of the brackets. I Can't really remember the details of how it worked. I know the genuine clock had large knurled head retaining bolts which were not on the version of the clock fitted to other English cars.
I can't stress any stronger how important the mock up fit is at prototype stage.

I'll send the clock I have from here today Pete. It will be a couple of months before I get to do any restoration work on it & fit it, so keep it for as long as you need. Will use the address on the back of the bag you sent unless you advise otherwise.

Pete, Posted the clock I bought from Ken. At least you can satisfy your own curiosity now. The top radius looks to be a little larger in the picture as you say, but overall I don't think it's a big deal once they are painted & fitted. The holes at the back can be drilled to suit the specific unit if/where they differ.

G'day Pete

This is an original FE FC Clock

As they were fitted to English cars as well they had different fittings and brackets on them

As the globe holder is in the way, the clock holder may need to be re drilled to suit the retaining bracket

Thanks for sending me the 2  down by the way, the original clock fits into your holder very well, some of the English car clocks have brackets attached to the sides that will need to be removed for a good fit

let me know if you require measurments

Gary, I could use some measurements for the flat retaining bracket & the long screws if you could please. I need to make the bracket & find some knurled screws. Are the holes tapped to take these screws, or are there nuts in the kit?

Well done Gary those are good pics. Pete the bracket just needs to be folded the other way round so the holes are on the other diagonal.  The little bracket is tapped to take the screws.
I'm wondering if the side retaining springs on the English version would do away with the need for the rear bracket?

Ken

Hmm apprentice folded them inside out.
I will do the next batch..

I can supply them without the holes and they can be urethaned or even a good double sided tape would hold them we have some excellent tapes we hold glass windows in with..
