My best memorys of driving my fc were 400 thousand  km RB30 motor stock wheel hr rear disc front end on its guts handled like  it was on rails loved every moment of it.

hopefully i can get it something of how it was when im finished.

Started cleaning up some of the chrome before I start stripping it all down to see how bad it actually is and if I'm going to re chrome or polish.

Majority of it cleaned up quite well so going to spend some more time on it before I decide if I send it away to be re chromed or not.

(WILL POST PICS AFTER I FINISH RESIZING THEM)

The old 202 is now ready to lift out and pull down to diagnose what went wrong with it and see if its worth rebuilding or not.  The more I look over the car the more I realise what's there and what's been modified eg: VH44 booster, modified front rack, engine bay has been modified to allow triples, reset rear leaves to name a few.

Will update thread with pics/info later

Cheers

The plan was to either finish building my 186 or build a wild 202 but sadly I lost my job on Monday so it looks like the FC could be up for sale Sad

Thanks JB

It couldn't have come at a worse time given the lack of work here in Tassie the roll I was on with the car Sad

Pete

I advertised it for $7500 but negotiable with my running gear and to stop the time wasters.

Its a very sold car with very little body work required and its not like there are too many for sale around my parts.

Cheers

I've had a lot of time on my hands due to unemployment and have been spending some of it working on the FC to stop me going crazy due to the lack of work here in Tassie.

I've been doing little things that don't really cost money like cleaning up all the chrome, started aligning all the doors (man that's a bitch to do) sorting out the rats nest that was the wiring under the dash, cleaning up the rims etc

I finally got around to removing the ID tag so I could clean it up and get the numbers:

NO: 225-15625
TRIM: 254-629
PAINT: 253-7773
RPO: 253-5300

It was originally Wangarra Grey over Ascot Grey with red/black interior.

I have taken some pics as I've been going but I still need to re-size and upload them to photobucket but will make sure I get them up here as well.

Even though I've had a lot of interest in the car whilst its been for sale no serious buyers so far which is kind of a good thing as deep down inside I don't want to sell her but its keep the car and sleep in it or sell and keep the house over the better half's head and apparently "it would be just like camping" wasn't as funny to her as it was in my head!!!

Hey Ken

Yes it is an M elbourne Cheesy

It took a while to verify the numbers were correct due to how badly damaged the ID tag is.  I provided as many details as I could to a friend at the local Holden Dealership who verified the numbers for me.

Now I just have to look into the legalities of getting another ID tagged stamped/made to replace the one that is damaged.

So I was notified this morning that I am unable to have another ID tag stamped and due to how badly the original tag is damaged it looks like this car will never see the road again "legally" Sad

Ben, I have an ID plate on an old frontend that is similar to yours although it is a Sydney car and the trim code is different.
Are the armrests red or black? as I have found that even though the trim is Riff Red & Black the numbers are not the same.
My tag reads as follows.
Body--FC255-37201-S I think
Trim--254-847--- two tone paint/ Riff Red& Black
Paint--253-7773---Wangarra Grey
Insert--253-5300---Ascot Grey
Send me a pm if you are interested, regards Jim

Thanks Jim,

I'll be in touch regarding the ID Tag once I get final confirmation from Transport regarding mine.

Just switch the tags...

it's common place, nothing deceptive going on.

Numbers often need to be re-welded in if sections of cars are replaced due to rust.

As long as your chassis number is readable then you should not have any problems with rego, I checked the tag yesterday and all is clear, the body no. is FC255-37101-S.
