hey Wayne, Good question,managed to keep hinges clear so it will still open and will make a shallow alloy box,,should fit the rego papers in!! Gonna make two slide out drawers/trays under the front bench seat for the bigger stuff. Got some ideas from you re your air con compressor and finally got ours fitted in neatly by fixing the bottom bracket with the compressor on it and tensioning the belt with the alternator .will try get you some photos on weekend for you
