Congrats on picking up your FC. Looks like a bit of work ahead, but it sounds like many of the problem areas would be cut away anyway. Good luck and keep us updated. Regards Alex

Just looking at it I think you will be shocked at how much rust it has but Sand Blasting is the only way to go.At least you'll know what you're up against and if you are dedicated and have some welding/fabricating skills you will get it done. One thing I've learned is never expect it to be done in a day,it will take much longer (unless you've got heaps of cash and pay someone else to do it then it will take a little less time.....and don't plan on having any more kids during the build either or it will take even longer... ....

Ive got 3 years for the tassie nationals, thats my aim. Fabricating and welding isnt a problem for me either. Here is the last "thing" i built, It wont be to anyone taste here. Its commodore mechanical engine,5 speed, diff,Struts, Brakes and a bit of Toyota stuff in there as well Xmember, Rack and pinion, Steering column, Pedal box, 4 Link Rear. Most people dont believe its rear wheel drive, At car shows you usually see people lying under the rear saying "yeah it has a diff under it" Took me a Year and a half to complete from start to finish, But i am still collecting parts to a bit more on it. Everything is fabricated by me, except the intercooling pipes and Aluminium boot floor. will also be featured in Zoom magazine soon. Yes its a Hyundai Excel Ill keep the old holden all holden. I know ill be getting less back after its been to the blasters.

cut open the drivers side sill to see how bad the rust is. I was surprised at how little crap was in there. there is still some factory black paint on some of it.

From one tasmanian from ulvy yo another. Good luck. Yours looks like my Fe. I'm also doing a fc taxi. You can see my Adelaide taxi and breton blue Fe in the build pages. Looks like you can get stuck into it now. Happy stripping. Make sure you get a wonder remover soon.

Yeah Ben moved back to tassie for few years about 6 years ago and was on castra road. Other family are west, richardsons and marshalls. Mum grew up in penguin. I grew up in Adelaide but was in tassie in early years. Do you know the furley boys. My family were pioneers if north Morton and waratah and deloraine back before Melbourne and Adelaide we invented

No I don't know the Furleys Deano. I grew up in West Ulverstone. All the best with the restos. You'll have both of yours finished before I even get started.
