Hand Brake widget installed. Will need cable deflectors. Without the weight of the fruit it looked like it was going to fit for a while. Will wait until it is up on a hoist. Hard work underneath now.



A little secret. Pull this and this happens.  Grin

Cannot remember what it came out of. Took a while to find at the wreckers. It has come up a treat.


Modified bucket seat frame installed today. IMHO these look great and the back height is now in keeping.









Anyway Happy new year. I did not quite make it for 2012 but 2013 has only just started. My son has claimed his car (the one I have been driving, got his licence just before Christmas) so if I want a car I have to beg, well ask nicely anyway, so I am motivated. Not far away. Modified battery tray,electrics for Air con and power windows and then Bobs your uncle.

 
I'm doing the super in my ek it fits nice but theres a lot of working out to get it right, i'm going with the e-z clips system (aeroquip) finding it hard to find who is selling the right hose for that setup and i'm going through the drivers side guard two & 1/2 blockheads & a lot more connextions.but it is fun and keeps the grey cells working

Sounds like you have taken on a task there. Hope it works out. I did not realise how much room you don't have.

Hi Wayne, I did  the same looking fuel flap on my ute, very similar, I used a  84 lazer (mazder 323)

Mine was a mid eighties Nissan. Took a number of trips to the wreckers, finally found one. It had to be turned upside down and made narrower to get to the neck of the fuel tank. Anyway looks cool.

I realised I might have some information useful to others. Over the 4 years of the restoration I have found some 50 web pages that helped me out. I have a link to some of them below. I saved them into My Favourites in a separate folder. If you right clink on the link and "Open in New Tab" then simply save into Favourites.
The US Sites JEGS and Carshop Inc were both very good. Where possible I also registered with the site. When you register with some of the sites it is possible to have shopping cart wishlists.  In recent times the Australian sites have on-line purchasing including Kustombitz. Obviously I have no affiliation with any of the companies nor do I necessarily endorse them, they simply helped me either understand a bit more or have the "stuff" I needed.

Great to hear from you Blok, hope all is well. I cannot get on here as much anymore because of work. I still sneak a peek when I can.

Anyway I need some help. What is the best way to secure the top radiator panel to cross frame. I have been looking at self clinching nuts but I remember someone having another idea that needed a special tool. May have been Pete.

For whats its worth should have welded a captive nut on before painting. Would be a lot easier.

Not going back though.

Thanks FE 4 ME , unfortunately I have just got out of hospital after a couple of weeks. Got some thing on my kidney, which is going to slow me down a bit. All curable but gave me a bit of a shock. Have been keeping an eye on the forum while I have been in hospital. Have managed to do some little things. Anyway will keep everyone posted.

G,day Wayne, sorry to read about your time in hospital, sure hope all is on the mend. Hope you can get back into the ute and finish her off in the near future. I have been flat out with work and the car has come off second best, not much done although I have been able to get half way through the right hand side with the rear floor and inner sill now done(will post some more photos when I have done the outer sill.

Hi Wayne,
I am looking at the power windows myself and have two types from my donor car. The rear motors run in a straight C channel like yours and I (prior to looking at yours) considered using these in the front doors. What motors did you use and did you make the channel to fit?
Where are the switches?
