Thought it may be time to post a pic of my better half. She's had a few cosmetic changes since I got her last year, and I just got her back from the suspension shop to try and get that nice low look. Whats the census on performing a engine swap.......... to the dark side?

Cheers
Marc

Nice looking cruiser, Marc.  As for your question on engine swap...  It is your car- go with what you want and can afford.  Personally, I think the van is begging for a set of Jack Meyer headers and twin carbs on a grey motor.  What engine swap were you thinking of?  Red, V6, V8?

Thanks Shayne,

Have a set of twins in the shed, which will be goin on in the next week or two, has extractors already, but yes JMs would be nice.

As for what engine I want......... love to put a fuel injected trumpet equiped......, and here's the bomb......... V8 Flathead  Shocked.

Cheers

I like your thinking Marc! That'd be something different
But I don't know how the mechanical injection would handle the daily driver duties  Grin

In my opinion though, absolutely NOTHING can beat a grey motor dressed up with period speed gear and alloy finned goodies  Cheesy

When you said 'going over to the dark side' I was almost going to ask if you meant F@%d.  Would be something special, but big job and lots of engineering.  In the mean time, have fun cruising with the grey...

Thats a great looking van.  Always loved the windowless look the vans give.

I'm going the v6 option as a daily driver for the bride, but the v8 flathead sounds like it could be a unique option.

Was thinkin more along the lines of electronic fuel injection, there's a mob in the states that do an all in one trumpet/efi setup for flatheads, looks mighty nice as well  Smiley. I guess, as with most things, it will depend on how far the budget stretches  Sad.

Was thinkin about the V6 option, but I want the V8 sound  Grin  Grin  Grin.

But ur right Shayne, I'll be enjoyin the grey in the meantime...... Cool

Never knew GM did one Deano, but since looking at a pic of one, I don't know if I like the exhaust route, even though it would allow more room between the rails...... hmmmmmmm

Why not think about a Y block.
This combo was fairly common in the 60's in sleeper FE FC's.
Period correct yet different.

I just love the look of the wide finned polished head and the spark plugs in the centre (hemi style). While not period correct, I think it could like rather fetching in the FE FC engine bay. Plus I have 2 sitting in my shed!!  Cheesy
