The wiper pivot hole was moved and a mini wiper motor was installed.

Takes up a lot less space behind the dash.

I am doing the same, I have one in the post as we speak as it was a popular conversion back in the 90's in fj holdens and that's the reason I'm doing it in my fe, thanks again.

Haha Neil it's a Morris marina motor because it is two speed, with the bevels and cables included for $140 delivered, and the only thing you need to do is turn one of the bevels around to make it sweep from centre to outside if that makes sense, they also have a type of steel line like a fuel line covering the cables, so all you need to do is make your own lines up to suit the length of cable under the dash.
I also found years ago that the body was live so you need to mount it fully on rubber, it also has a cancel switch built in to stop after you turn the switch of, so it will return to the centre. We used to mount them above the glovebox in the fj's so it hid very well, oh and just remembered the cables from the mini were the better ones because they were the right length. The beauty of this is you can smooth of the holes on your firewall as well, and bugger I have a vs commodore wiper motor sitting here now.
Not sure if I have made much sense at all but I get it baha and I'm not even on the rums tonight.

It does make sense sounds like a good mod being able to hide the motor my sedan has the commodore motor so will probably leave it but it may be good for my ute.

Divider painted and put in. 1 Bailey channel trial fitted.

Glass should be there by Wednesday, so hopefully more pics by Thursday night.

Are you changing the seats or putting same back. I am thinking about using vb buckets with head rests removed. You have probably seen more than me, do you think I should use older h model ones or would vb be ok. Are aftermarket channels and window bits fairly good fit or am I best to try fix where I can. I'm not looking forward to that stage, all the fiddly bits.

Early Commodore are a bit square and sit up high in an FC in my opinion.

Again, in my opinion, seat shoulders that sit at the belt line/window line look the neatest - seats from 60's British sports cars. Even check out 67-69 Camaros, early Mustangs and Beetles. I've got 66 Corvette buckets in mine. A bugger to fit, but they look cool.

Given the mods you are doing to yours, your engineer may require you to have headrests. This may limit the style of seat you can fit.

I agree with the seat height thing. I was onto model 4 before I liked what I saw. I really liked the early Landrover seats but they were going to cost over $1000 each to fix. I'm also not sure about leaving off head rests. Certainly worth a check with the engineer.

The seats I have in there are from a late model Caprice... They even have screens in the headrest!
I have used as much of the safety features that I could out of the commodore so the headrests will stay.  My brother said to get rid of them and the first word that I used was Whiplash. To me it's like saying the seat belts don't look any good so get rid of them. They will be recovered in leather and the screens taken out.
As for earlier seats etc it is purely your own choice of what you like best in your car. I may have said something along the lines before, it's your car you do it the way you like and if someone doesn't like it, so what... they can build theirs the way they want to.
Ideas from others are great, but you can soon see that there are so many options to skin the at that it can get confusing.
After doing my 2 builds now, I am still learning, but best advice I could offer is make a plan for what you want, how you are going to achieve it and keep going until it's done.

12 hours today getting power windows set up on one door... 45 minutes on the other.
put the other screens in last night... All for photo's for a wedding. Will have to take them out again for upholstery.

Thanks guys,

I have seen the mini motor working but have not had it working in the car yet. The connections in the motor are 4 pronged, where all of the wiring diagrams are 5. The commodore has 5, so still trying to figure out the best way to hook it up yet.

With the horns, there is no room left behind the grill so was the best place for them. They will be hidden by the front bumper when I get it back from electroplating.
