I don't know if anyone else has tried but instead of crc on things in the car like key barrels window winders I use lynx graphite deodorant goes on dry and works awesome I did the squeaky door hinges at home and the dead lock was sticky when I try to pull the door shut .
May smell for ten minutes but its dry.
I read the holden manual says use graphite powder but where do you get that from ?
IM sure there probably anything in the deodorant to resemble the powder.but it works awesome.

Hoon

Graphite powder is available at bike shops and locksmiths sometimes in squeeze bottles.

Thanks Pete and Graig,good info...

Well it was cool this morning in the Barossa at 10 past seven when I cruised into work in the FC,but it was 22 degrees when I cruised home, window down... Cowl vent open...arm out on the door...the smell of warm vinyl, fresh paint and apparently odourless fish oil...gentle tap of rockers just to keep me entertained... a few thumbs up and waves from passers by....The Black FC ran like clockwork to and from work today and I thought to myself "it has only taken this one day and a twenty minute drive to and from work to make the whole last 5 years worth it"...

Hopefully many more days like today... Cool

Seeing that it's behaving itself now, thought it was time it graduated to Members Cars...
Well done on your project!! It is a credit to your perseverance and the rewards will just continue on.

Cheers

Well here we are...Members cars.A little bitter sweet really.Sure it's great to have the Black FC finished but all the fun involved with building the car was...well..building the car.Posting all the latest updates and all the progress shots and having members comments was awesome.Unfortunately now we have reached the point where we move to the archives but I guess that had to happen eventually.Anyway,I'll get over it.Once again, thanks to all who gave me the inspiration to persist with my build and keep me motivated to "continue" which fulfilled the title of the thread.Picked up my new plates today.

Cheers,Jamie.

Well after two weeks of driving the Black FC to work I've decided there is only one big problem .....having to wait 8 bloody hours till I get to drive it home again!!!Played around with the timing a bit and have now got it running real sweet.I think it's time to have another go with the twins before the Palmer Hot Rod party on Sunday.I'm confident I can swap it all back if need be.Jamie.

Thanks Jim,got the FC all cleaned up and took for a trip to the Palmer Hot Rod show yesterday.Got there pretty late due to commitments in the morning and missed a lot of the show and some real nice cars.Still some cars there when I got there and hope to be there a lot earlier next year.

Cheers,Jamie.

Jamie,

Congratulations!  You've had your "Ta-Dumm!" moment, and I bet you're loving it.

(and you've even been promoted to Members' FEs and FCs)
