21  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Station Sedan Windlace on: March 10, 2022, 09:20:00 PM
Does anyone know how many metres of wind lace is required for a station sedan?
I know Sedans take just under 2 metres per door but I haven't measured up a station sedan.

25  General / General Board / Silver Fleck Windlace on: November 18, 2021, 07:24:29 PM
I'm after expressions of interest in Silver Fleck Windlace.
Given the original sample is probably over 60 years old it doesn't make a great comparison, putting them together to match they are a very close for fleck spacing.

With current exchange rates it would be roughly $50 per metre (final price won't be known until it arrives and all duties and taxes paid) and because it is sold by the yard a length for a Sedan would be 8.2 metres (9 yards). 8 yards might be a bit too short at 7.2 metres.

Please comment below and if you are definitely going to buy some you can email me and should I get enough interest I will put an order in.

30  General / General Board / Black Vinyl on: August 30, 2021, 12:16:06 PM
Just checking to see if there is any demand for repro Black Vinyl?
I have been using locally sourced black vinyl which is close but not exactly like original, pictured in the link is the repro available from the US.

32  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Bench seat on: May 14, 2021, 10:55:59 AM
Or maybe I have to modify the runners to get least the 50 mm ?

Don't mod the seat, move the shifter they are bolted to the trans tunnel and use a cable to shift. It's much easier to drill 4 holes than mod the bench.

36  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Boot Separater Board and Firewall Board on: March 17, 2021, 11:14:48 AM
You can get trim board from Daleys who are in most states, this is the closest material to original that I have found and use it for door trims, glovebox liners and boot boards.
I contacted Classic Gloveboxes a couple of years ago expressing interest in their firewall board patterns as I heard they were winding up, they told me they still going and that is the last I heard.

Looks like I better start the journey with the Engineer.

Which state are you in? There may be members who can point you to a good local engineer.

Brett does some great work, I believe John Chaplin's (Stash) Sedan is there for some work.

I had AutoTransformers fill the side windows of my FC Panel Van, they fabbed the panel and recreated the louvres.
39  General / General Board / Re: Wind lacing on: February 02, 2021, 06:05:07 PM
I wasn't sure if wind lace was used in the cargo area and now I know, each door opening takes about 1.7 metres so I generally sell 8 metre lots to do a Sedan (and now Station Sedans).

Any specifics on the rim and tyre size and backspace or offset please?

Not off the top of my head, and it's too hot to go out an check  Grin
I know the tyres are 185 and 245/60 R14
The next time they are off I'll measure up, BTW the rear guards have a slight pump to them.
