1  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: replacement headlight bulbs?? on: April 18, 2004, 09:18:10 AM
Hi there,

I recently sold my EK wagon which was fitted with sealed beams. They worked a treat and were heaps better than my FB's standard set up. There were no modifications to run these lamps.

Cheers, Jason.

5  Technical Board / General Technical / External Sunvisor underside colour? on: October 09, 2003, 10:38:21 AM
Hi all,

A question for all those lucky people with Nasco external sunvisors fitted to their cars. What is the usual colour of the underside. I have been told a flat green colour was commonly used but I'm wondering if other colours have been used, flat black etc. My car is a pastel yellow.

Cheers, Jason.
6  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Standard sized tyres on: September 24, 2003, 03:51:07 AM
G'day Brendan,

I have fitted "Hankook Milage Plus" tyres to my FB. They aren't quite the original size (175/80 13) but do look very nice. They have about a 1/2" white stripe around them and cost me $64.00 a tyre about 4 years ago. They are quite reasonable to drive on and I was able to get them from a number of different tyre outlets here in Tassie.

I hope this is of help to you, Jason.
7  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Benchseat Floorshift on: May 05, 2003, 11:25:59 AM
G,day Matt,

Regarding the seat, I have seen a notch about six inches wide and a couple of inches deep made in the front which looks spot on. Perhaps a trip to the seat trimmers is in order?

Cheers, Jason.
8  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Door lock problems on: May 05, 2003, 11:21:10 AM
Thanks Leigh,

I pulled the door trims off the other week and went berko with the crc. Problem now fixed.

Cheers.
9  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Reconditioning a Battery?? on: May 01, 2003, 12:18:15 AM
G'day Ken,

Down in Tassie your battery can be refurbished for about $120.00

Cheers, Jason.
10  Technical Board / General Technical / Door lock problems on: April 17, 2003, 09:51:40 AM
G'day all,

The drivers side door lock on my EK will not unlock if I lock the door by holding in the door handle. Its usually OK if I lock and unlock it with the key and if that doesn't work I'd just go around the other side.

Well today that happened and the passenger side door did the same bloody thing as well. I'm sure this would be a problem that someone here may have had as I assume its just a bit of general wear and tear in the locking mechanisms of these fine old beasts.

Anyone got any ideas???

Cheers, Jason.
11  General / General Board / Re: Red Radio Aerial Tips on: January 31, 2003, 04:33:20 AM
Hi all,

I have a 1960 fb fitted with a red tip since new but will take whatever colour you are prepared to make Graham as I have just purchased an EK wagon with the tip broken off.

Cheers, Jason

15  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: can anyone tell me of an engine builder in Tas on: January 13, 2003, 12:45:29 AM
G'day Twitch,

If you are up around the North Wet coast I'd give Cesco a ring in Devonport. I know they used to do Greys' and they are HSVs' engine rebuilders for their not so reliable LS1 engine up here.

16  For Sale and Wanted / Parts For Sale / Warmaride Heater on: May 02, 2002, 09:40:33 AM
Hi everyone,

I have a Nasco Warmaride heater, part # 7406627 that I would like to swap for an FB/EK Taxi Bar which I've been unable to find here in Tassie. The heater core does not leak and the fan works fine although it does need a coat of paint.

I know this is a FE/FC forum but I'm hoping someone may have come across one in their travels.

Please feel free to email me with any questions on the heater or info regarding the whereabouts of a Taxi Bar.

If you are not in posession of a bar but know of one and would like a heater we could come to some arrangement I'm sure.

My email address; jasonrc@southcom.com.au

Thanks.

18  General / General Board / Re: Nasco Accessories on: March 24, 2002, 06:17:10 AM
Airchief,

I'd have to say a Taxi Bar. A big shiny piece of chrome which I have not got yet. Sad

The search continues.
