For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: FC Special Sedan For Sale

Hi Ratbox,
Yes it has a larger hump, car looks to be an older resto and must have had a different gearbox in it at some stage, where the floor shifter was has been welded up, it had the original column shift in it though when I bought it and looks to just be an original crash box.
I bought the car not running, brought it home but could not get it to start at first, no spark so I took the distributor out of my FJ ute and put in in the FC and it fired up virtually straight away, the motor sounds sweet and is not blowing any smoke.
If you would like any further photo's of certain areas or whatever I am happy to take them, that goes for anyone reading this, nothing to hide here, car is well worth it.
Very small rust hole in passenger floor would be a 10 minute weld up job, bucket seats fitted but they never used any mounting plates and the drivers seat has ripped away and made a couple of small holes in the floor where the bolts were mounted.
If not sold here it will probably be listed on ebay at some point in the near future.
Cheers, Jack

Hi Guys, In the nearly 3 years i have had this FC I have not really done anything with it, it looks the same now as it did when I bought it except that i have removed the trim and polished it ready for reinstall, obviously it needs restoration but the good news is that there is hardly any rust to mention and the body is quite straight, really just looking to get back what I paid for it, the only difference will be that it will not come with the chromies but a set of stockies, wanting $5000 in Cootamundra 2590. At the moment i have no time due to other old holdens in the works, and i know i will regret selling this car but in reality i was actually after an FC Special Wagon when i came across this sedan, i would possibly swap for a special wagon in the same condition that i could tuck away for a rainy day, will post some photo's but in the meantime here is a link to my post when i first bought the car with photo's. http://forum.fefcholden.club/index.php?topic=23295.0Cheers, Jack 0415637632

Ken, I found this following post on the FJ forum..... My old front end had been converted to 13in wheels I believe its just a matter of taking out the upper and lower pins removing the old stub axle and hub and putting the FC one in its place I think the tie rods fit the new steering arms ok I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong That's why i just wanted to double check, but i may still look into it when i get a chance. Thanks again mate. Cheers, Jack

Yes they do bolt straight up, but they are not as common as you would think. These have been desirable since the sixties and even a lot of FE's now have the later hubs fitted because of the cost of the bearings and the fact that the later hubs and stub axles are very cheap.
Ken
Ken, Thanks for the info, would you know if i could bolt the later FE/FC stub axles (hubs, brakes) straight up to the FJ crossmember? Cheers, Jack

G'day Guys, I am looking for a set of "early" FE hubs & brakes to fit to onto my FJ ute. I have read that they will bolt straight up, i would imagine these would be sitting around in peoples sheds due to many fitting HR front ends. I'm happy to pay accordingly + freight, so if you have a set i have the cash and can do direct deposit. Cheers, Jack
