I am in the process of fitting my new rooflining have the wire stays in place ,front and rear fixed with large paper clips what should I be using for the glue mickrat. [/IMG]
Stinky made my rooflining looks fantastic, a good trick for holding the glued lining is bits of pinchweld instead of paper clips Cheers Grant
He's had a career change a few years back . Now a school teacher .
Yes they are cool because u can run original steering wheel. He also told me to drill upper control arrm rear bolt 10 mm lower he said he did on his ute and it steers like on rails did you ever try it?
Hi mate, I have a rear rack from rods racks, he uses hq power steering arms as they are shorter, no bump steer or clearance issues. Bit hard to find but they are around, I will take a photo if you want. Cheers Grant
Can you provide some info on the ICU you're using?
Cheers,
Josh.
Hi josh, I will take a few photos by the end of the week. Ecu is microtech, I can tune these fairly easy with 1200 cc injectors, the ignition is a 7amp ice unit with 16 volt booster through a standard locked electronic distributor. Just doing body work atm but should also fire up engine within next week as the alloy welding is now complete. Phew Thanks Grant
Finally found my chassis number its very very faint
Its saying my cars an FE ? Could it of had a different subframe fitted ? But the grille assembly is really earlly FC it has chrome over steel slats ?

Brake light feed power supply white wire goes to the column switch assay through two sets of contacts back out to the violet and pink wires back to the stop light globes when the indicators are operated depending what side is switched this supply is opened and the flasher supply yellow is switched to either the violet or the pink depending what side is selected. It all takes place within the column switch assembly. The diagram you are looking at is a bit deceiving. Mickrat
Yep yep thanks mickrat that makes sense. Diagram as you say a bit confusing. Thanks also pete
Hi all, have done a search but cannot find an answer. I am putting a new loom in the car and want the rear lights to work as factory (flashing brake lights). So studying the factory diagram some wiring does not make sense
If you look at the stop lamp switch it appears to join a white, pink and violet together? The pink and violet go to the stop, rear turns left and right lights. I am hoping someone can help me understand how with this wired this way that the right or left indicator would not both together when just indicating right or left? I get how it operates if you were braking.
Yeah, ok so this residual pressure valve is the little bowler hat shaped valve you take out when you use a drum brake master for a clutch or disc brakes with say a HR front end . So will I need it to put a VR booster and master [fire wall mounted] on a disc drum combo ? Like I said ,it works fine on my first Vauxhall . Haydn
It gives you a better pedal feel, it you have rear drums adjusted well as you say will work aok. G
As I said this must be considered when lowering your ute . But no , I am simply trying to use a VR sedan master cylinder on my Vauxhall hardtop , exactly the same torana front and rear ends as the convertible and it works fine on the convertible for the last 5 years [put the inspector up against the windshield back then] but he said to me I should ask someone who does brake if it is ok . So my brake guy [if not me] has retired after some 25 years [he used to ask me about these mix and match jobs] and now I can't find anyone who makes sense . I would be inclined to think that a disc disc valve off a sedan would favour the front slightly more than a disc drum valve and would therefore work well as in my Vauxhall there would be on balance more weight over the front
Hi Haydn, the only thing I would say you might need is to adda residual valve, willwood make them $25 I think
Residual valves are pressure valves used to retain pressure in the lines. The most common use is on a hot rod when there is a floor mounted brake pedal and master cylinder. Mounting the master cylinder (M/C) below the floor positions it below the calipers. Gravity will cause the fluid to flow away from the calipers. The residual valve will retain pressure within the lines. (i.e. 2 pounds residual valve will retain 2 pounds of pressure, 10 pound will retain 10 pounds.) Drum brake master cylinders have residual valve(s) built into the master cylinder. This is needed to maintain pressure against the cup seals in the wheel cylinders. If you are using a disc brake master cylinder or after market you will need to install a 10 pound residual valve for the drum brakes. Do not install a residual valve if your master cylinder already has one in it. This will cause the brakes to lock up after the second application to the brake pedal.
I dont comment usually but I have to say when u said the mags u where using I didnt think much of them but I must say on the car josh great choice keep up the pace best of luck getting to nats Grant
Hi I am after some of the metal on the inside of the car that the hoodlining and the windlace pushes into. I dont know how else to descibe thanks grant located in brisbane
