Thanks Craig,
They are the only electronic pics of the car I have !!
I Have just returned this last weekend from Mt Gambier with the car.
The club over there have just had their silver jubilee show and shine (25 years) and thanks to "Jockster" on here, who chased me up after you posted those pics from the AHD earlier this year, invited me over for the weekend with the car, as I won the first show and shine in 1978 !! And the car is basically still the same (the paint is a little sad now though )
My family and I had a great time and has even got me interested in the car again.
I may have to join a club again !!!

Cheers

Alan,

I have a few more of your car taken on that day.

Send me mailing address and I'll post down hi res versions on C.D.

Car's like yours and Norm Dawes (the FC racer) are like hidden treasure to me - so many of these have unfortunately disappeared never to be seen again. The great thing is that I know there's another old custom or modified FE/FC waiting in a dusty shed ready to make a reappearance.

Come on guys lets find them!!!

Cheers,

Craig.

Alan, what an incredible car you have, and to have kept it for over 25 years? is amazing, I remember seeing it in the '86 steet machine magazine with the Golden Holdens, your car was one of the reasons i got hooked on FC's, it looked so good.  Smiley    Tony

I saw an amazing purple dragster on a trailer heading for Heathcote a couple of years ago (which got me interested in adding some purple to my project) and after mentioning this to a spray painter who works for Victor, told me it was Victor's old car.
So there's 2 still around.

OK, This as much as I can remember???
Rick (FC 059) took his off the road to do a full chassis, jag rear, and V8 conversion. It was 3/4 finished when he purchased 57 chev coupe,so the FC took a back seat. I think it was sold in that condition,I have never heard of it again..

The other post about the purple car is correct,I did see it once on the road in the Lillydale area, in Melbourne.
It did look familiar at the time, and some one else told me that it was Victors old car.
Maybe it is still on the road as well..

G'day Al

Heres some good news for you, there's still a purple FC on the road in the Lilydale area, it an amazing piece of machinery. I had the chance to look at it when I was at the local racecar builders factory.
I remember this car taking on a HSV commo one night on the highway, what I remember most was watching it move passed us and seeing its tail lights in front of us as we were no match for it. I still remind my mate about it from time to time Grin

Some cool stories about some (in)famous FC's.
I first saw Alan's car at the 5th Street Machine Nats in Canberra in 1982. I was in awe, one of the standout cars at the show.

Hey Al, here is a pic of the old girl I took at the show. Hasn't changed in over 20 years. If I remember, Rick's FC was parked next to you, but unfortunately, I didn't get a pic.
Regards
Alex

Talking about legends from the 70's.  John Petersen strolled into work this week with a Consul he is working on for a friend (note careful not to use the F word)
For those who remember, John had THE TOUGHEST black Zephyr on the road in the 70's and featured in mags at around the same time as Rick's and Alan's cars.  We had a great chin wag with him over lunch as he recalled some of the good times.  The black Zeph is still around, and John has tried to buy it back but the current owner wont sell.
