Nice colour JB, was going to paint the van orange & white when I originally got it, but decided a while ago to paint it a different colour scheme, but I do have a liking for orange.

Gettin closer now!!

Busy day today, mainly because the car has been at the metal doctors for so long. So the bits that started with the car are now not with the car, leading to chasing ones tails for bolts and nuts all day!

But we did manage to get some progress done!

Been a month since I have been able to go and do something on the ute, and it has sat there the whole time... Was hoping that it would have progressed a little further but the shop is a little busy.

So got to de clutter the garage a little today, putting in the cruise control box, ignition module, wiper motor, and tidying up the engine bay a little by running the wires through the firewall.
Also got to set up the handbrake and mount the rear calipers and pads, and mount the gear shift which I had to modify as I stuffed up the measurements somewhere along the way last time I tried to fit it. But now have all five and a reverse!

And one for hoon to show his handy work on colour!!

Hi mate, I see on the bottom of your steering column in previous pics you have a piece bolted at the bottom on the firewall, What is this piece off. I've put a commodore steering column in my HR and i need a piece like this to finish it off.
Thanks

Thanks guys,

Rick,
It was cutout from the VT donor Car and welded in to take the end of the steering column.

Cheers

Back on the car for a day today, managed to get the fuel lines on, rubber under the fuel tank to be buttoned up and the exhausts on... radiator in and thermofans done and then put some wires together... Turned the key.... Nothing!

No test kit... wired a lead light up and found the missing wire.

Turned the key... lights on the dash, fuel pump pressurising... we have noise again after about 10 months.

Had the side pipe on and the sound was great... no backfire when coming down off the revs either.. maybe the computer was doing it thing and tuning itself for the set up , I don't really know. Sorry no vid today, but have a couple of grainy shots from an old phone.
