That would be Top Gear. Here's a link to the release details. Warning: Don't have a mouthful of your favourite beverage when you click that link, lest you spray it all over your keyboard and computer.Pink and white?! WTF were they thinking? It looks like it's been carved from a block of coconut ice. Not even a Magic Mirror pink FB/EK colour is that garish. Why? Why not an authentic combination? Abobe Beige & Terraglow, for example. It's not like it's been tricked up with mags and a V8 under the bonnet. It just looks wrong*. Unbelievable. Just my 2c (and my $58, for that matter, that I'll be keeping). cheers RET * I'm not referring to pink FE/FCs in general, just this model. No offence intended. |

Heh RET thanks for the beverage warning as that is APALLING !!!!!!!! Got to be the worst Top gear product of all time just a shocker and it is time they had a wholesale review of their marketing department as it obvious they have absolutely no idea, as you mentioned Richard ........... WTF !!!!

I have seen an FC in similar colours (reverse) over here, I am sure that quite a few of our lady enthusiast will buy it, I will buy it just so I can say I brought it for you "dear". It might have to be here birthday present.
Would look good parked outside an old Ice Cream Palour.

Got to be the worst Top gear product of all time An award previously held by the model of the prototype FJ station wagon with the 90s style sticker graphics on it. And I thought that was going to be pretty hard to beat. Just my opinion, of course cheers RET |

My wife and daughter think its a wonderful piece of art which my FC should have been done in the same. My daughter thinks Ken and barbie's new boyfriend (some aussie surfer boy) would look cool cruising with the 19 barbies she has.

The new catalogue lists the car as Terraglow /Adobe Beige, so perhaps the colour depicted is not accurate.
There is a disclaimer stating that the colour may not be indicative of the final product.
Lets hope it is true to the original colours, they have been in the past.
I will be laying my money down all the same, as I have every FE FC and don't want to break the set.

Well I'll be.... :-/ There's no mention of Terraglow on the site, just "pink". And it sure does look pink. But the printed brochure today says that the model is indeed Terraglow and Adobe Beige - the very colours I suggested earlier! - and the colours in there look nothing like the web-page. In print it looks much better. Methinks the graphic artist for the website stuffed up big time  I take it all back (except the bit about the FJ wagon, that's still horrid). cheers RET |

Just had a look at the site, it still looks pink to me - and while we're at it, given the time it took to create the Opal FC models and match up the colours you'd think they could have spelt Olinda Green correctly  Cheers John |

The car is indeed Terraglow. I chose the colours for the model and have done so for about the last 5 or 6. (since the 2 tone green FC). However, my task is to supply colour chips, I dont get to see a final prototype painted in the colour and I don't get to proof read the text. The words "Olinda green" were supplied correctly to Top Gear by me but since I did not see a text to proof read I have no control of what gets printed.
From what I've seen the Terraglow colour looks pretty close to the original colour (it is a pretty rare colour and I think some readers are confusing it with Terracotta which is similar but more browny/red than pink). I quite like the Terraglow colour as it is a rare colour and Top Gear wanted a colour that was different to what had already been supplied. So if you want someone to blame for the colour then that would be me.
