5  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / FC flasher can. - nos preferred on: January 23, 2017, 12:16:16 AM
Evening all,
I'm after a nos flasher can for an FC. It's currently got a tridon one in, but it's too quiet and is more than ADHD in its flashing rate ... Happy to pay P&H to WA.

I'm after a set of nos (or near new) bonnet hinges for my FC, the bonnet threatens guillotining in anything above a weak breeze ...
8  General / General Board / Re: Economy??? on: April 09, 2010, 11:47:04 PM
hi

Did a check a few years ago when my stock FC before it needed a carby rebuild, averaged 22mpg sitting on 50mph on a 120km round trip.  After the rebuild did the same trip at the same speed and averaged 33mpg.

9  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: Sunvisor mounting clamp on: November 02, 2009, 09:16:21 AM
thanks for the tip Ken, will do.  I'll drill out the broken bolt from the domed nut so that should be fine.

hi Ken
hmmm .. one bolt on the driver's side snapped off and is now one (rusted tightly) with the domed nut, so it looks like I'm knackered.  I thought the 'inside' bracket with the bolts was separate to the sunvisor.  I've glued the domed nut back onto the stainless steel piece and have wedged some thin strips of rubber between the sunvisor and the gutter to take up any movement. Its looks fine and is holding okay at the moment but would prefer it to be secured properly.  ah well, will just have to keep an eye on it and keep away from any high speed runs!

11  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Sunvisor mounting clamp on: October 30, 2009, 09:37:04 AM

12  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) on: September 01, 2009, 10:04:38 PM
Hi
ah well, no harm in asking! and yep, understand perfectly not wanting to drill.  The factory 179 in an EH ute makes it even rarer ... more pics would be nice but I've been told to wear a bib!
cheers   frank
13  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) on: September 01, 2009, 08:02:43 PM
Sorry, no wheel trims, but that is one very impressive EH ute ... an excellent find and am very jealous,  is it a 179 or 149?  Obviously no point trying to elbow my way into your Will I guess ...

If you're keen and don't have one, I have an EH handbrake warning light (switch and leads as well) for sale ... PM me but if you don't I'll hang onto it.

14  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / rear venetian thingy-ma-bob on: July 07, 2009, 11:35:00 PM
hi,

I'm chasing the centre adjuster piece from my rear venetian (FC sedan) which has a knurled knob and clips into the top rubber seal at one end, and over the centre bar at the other.

i hope this makes sense ... no pics unfortunately. It was lost when the rear screen was out at the panel beaters, yes I should have removed it before it went in - wonderful thing hindsight ...

Feel free to PM me if you have one and want to sell it and post it to Perth!

cheers  frank

16  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Paint colour on hubcaps? on: June 21, 2009, 09:23:17 PM
hi everyone
from previous threads, I know the red is maranello (excuse the spelling), but wondering about the black ... is it gloss, semi-gloss or matt? And I guessing some primer first?  Any other tips greatly appreciated, it's one of those jobs I'm dreading ..

17  Technical Board / Restoration Help / door button o rings and spring on: October 21, 2007, 09:05:41 PM
hi guys
I've managed to clean my workbench so am now able to get on with getting all the chrome and trim assembled before putting it back on the car ... first job is the door handles, the o rings are cracked, and one spring is broken.  what is the best and cheapest replacement?  I've heard early Astra door handles springs are close, and I guess o rings i can get from Bunnings ... any tips/advice appreciated!
cheers  frank
18  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: Restoring hubcaps on: July 24, 2007, 07:35:38 PM
thanks Ken/Craig - I think I'll opt for the Craig method, i thought perhaps I could use blue tac to cover the small bits in between the emblem before using the spray can.  But first I have to get all the re-chromed bumpers and trim back on ...
