Great find - very rare car. The only one I have on record. Trim is Cordon Brown, Paint is actually called "Dark Blue Grey" which is a weird name for paint. S4 stands for Air Force Build specification. Love to see a pic of the dash with the flag signals. Can you find the chassis number?
Regards Ken

Sounds like a very special ute you've got there! I love modded cars, but you sure you want to hot up this one? pics of the air force items in it would be cool Cheers Ed

I agree with Ed, RAT. Ken has 3000 id plates on his data base and, until your car, no Air Force utes. If you really want a modified ute send me a pm. It would be a shame to rod this one Cheers John

I think I'd surprise a few here on the forum by saying "I agree" this one may be better left with the restoring type , Wanna sell it to me A good body is always a good start for channeling and chopping

nah, now that final objective has left the country you can steal its paint job. I cant bring myself to say dont modify, but if you do modify, use 40's-50's war planes for inspiration with stuff like paint and upholstery, i would anyway.

I think that this is your ute, so your choice... But why not drive it as it is and enjoy. Changing engines and other bits won't mean that it can't be restored if you choose to do it down the track. I have seen wwII planes rebuilt from scratch and then obtain an ID plate from a wreck somewhere else to be claimed as the real deal Not really sure how that works, but to have the real thing WOW. Cheers Jason.

I agree with van6, yr choice. Would look great lowered about 5 inches, wouldnt ride real flash but cant have the best of both worlds!! i was wondering, just because the air force had it why does that make it so rare? I suppose there arnt many around but would that make it any more expensive to buy? My mate has a XP wagon yellow with white roof and numbers stamped above every wheel arch,(apparently an old airport vehicle, it even has it stamped on the id plate) sorted that out pretty quick, rubbed it back, took out the springs, threw out the old motor and auto!! anyhow RAT real nice old ute and hope to see it crusin about town at what choice you decide to go with, cheers
