Good day to you all.

I have been using this site for about 12 months, learning about FEs and FCs and trying to locate one to fulfil my 10 year old dream.

Well, yesterday I fulfilled that dream by purchasing a black original 59 FC Sedan.  My beautiful (and understanding) girlfriend and I travelled to a location just south of Sydney to inspect it, and it was just what I was looking for.

1. Registered
2. Sound mechanics
3. Body needs TLC
4. Detailed history

I look forward to everything that comes with owning such a great vehicle, and I’ll no doubt get to know some of you soon.

Once I figure how to get images up (not just a red X), I'll post some pics.

Cheers,
Phil

Welcome aboard Phil, looking forward to the photos.
http://www.tinypic.com is a good start for beginners, there are detailed instructions in the "Real Cars" section.

Cheers

Hey Phil.
Welcome to the board.
Now you have the best of both worlds.....
...a beautiful, understanding girlfriend and a cool black FC.
Hang onto both and you will be doing fine.
Look forward to seeing pics of the car and perhaps 1 day meeting up in person.
It's not too late to enter the Nats!!
Regards
Alex

G'day Phil welcome to the owners club, I hope you can bring it to the nationals so we can all see it in the flesh. The entries are still open, so go to the VIC site and contact Dina and do yourself a favour and come along.

Oh yes, Phil - good looking car.  Take your time with the work to be done:  drive it and enjoy it first.

And for added enjoyment, on and off the road, join the local FE-HR club.  Great people and a wealth of knowledge and assistance.

Welcome

Hi Phil,
Looks like a great car! Why don't you come along to our Club run this Sunday. We're meeting at Mcdonalds Belconnen (Departing about 10am) for a garage run.........we're going to 3 members garages to check out their stuff & latest projects. Last stop is my place for a sausage sizzle as well as checking out my "Nasco Playroom" (I have a room full of memorabilia & stuff). By the way, I'm trying to come up with a name for my room, so if anyone's got any suggestions............

Phil,
If you can't make it on Sunday, our next Club meeting is Thursday 9th Feb at the Raiders club, Liardet st Weston, commencing at about 8pm.

Can't wait to check out your car!

Cheers,

Graham

Nice car, Phil.
Gotta love Black. Get along for the garage crooze if you can, I would love to myself, but being in Tas, it is a little too far to travel.

Graham.
How about the "Nas-cave". Get it? An abbreviated version of the Nasco-Cave, just like the Bat-Cave! :-/
Ahh, well, at least I  try! Smiley

Bloody nice one there Phil.I like it in the "as found" condition.Black really does it for me.
Graham, a suggestion for your "Nasco playroom" may be to call it "Nascoville". Grin Grin ;

It's great to see so many people using this forum and thanks for your warm welcome.

I will maintain this great sedan, (affectionately named "Tommy") as a daily driver and do my best to bring it back to original.

I followed the lead-up to Jindabyne last year, and enjoyed reading the stories and seeing the pictures from that meeting.  I don't think I'll make it to Phillip Island this year, but I'll see what I can do before registration closes.

Graham, Sunday sounds great.  I have to replace the clutch on Saturday, so all going well I'll be at McDonalds around 9:30 (make that 8:30 after your pm).

Over the next six months I plan to:

- Replace clutch
- Replace Universal Joints (tailshaft)
- Remove and treat battery housing/platform
- Remove modern stereo
- Install Original stereo
- Detail Engine bay
- Cut rust from boot (spare tyre area)
- Inspect every inch for rust and treat/replace accordingly
- Prep for painting
- Paint - Original Black on Black
- Install new Rubber Kit
- Replace or restore the required small items

I drove Tommy from Sydney to Canberra without a problem. He purred down the highway and happily watched the Z3's, Supras, etc. zip past.  Naturally we took it slowly and had plenty of breaks.  Around town is great, and will be better with the new clutch.

Cheers,

Phil

Cheer Nick,

As soon as I saw it in the sellers’ driveway, I pictured a gangster type character standing half out one of the doors with a Tommy Gun.  I have only named a couple of cars in my life and this one just happened.

Cheers,

Phil
