Good on Rares for having a go at these things. Grin

However given recent debates about colours of Horn Caps and the like .. how are you going to decide / or can you enlighten us on what colour combination it is going to be ... Huh

I have a prototype in my hot little hands (arrived today), and it does look very good indeed.
Hopefully we should be able to work out a deal with Rare Spares and get them on the market soon.

Well this is just the prototype and it will take a few months after approval until stock can be made. The boot badge took some months between prototype and availability.
Also club funding will be essential for it to fly.  We are currently looking at bankrolling the plastic seat surrounds (see my comments in that particular thread) so funding may be difficult without the support of the other clubs (apart from Vic and NSW)

just  one other thing if anyone finally work's all this out, why are some painted silver  and some painted off white on the underside too. would this affect the different finanl colour's or is it just to stop them being see through or to cover the different colours that are put on.

Different suppliers.  Most products that were sourced from other than GMH themselves were from 2 suppliers
Think Bosch and Lucas electrics
Preslite and Delco
etc etc etc

Also the reason we did them with a blue centre is because the sales brochure for both FE and FC show a blue centre in the horn button.  I know other colours do exist but you cant say that blue is the wrong colour.Grin

Great to see the horn button repro. As for the NOS ones, It is drawing a long bow to compare a NOS button that has been boxed for 50 yrs with a repro. dripping wet out of the mould. The challenge of the search, as well as finally locating & fitting a NOS button is worth the doing. The decision to repro. these makes things easier & gets my applause. I located 3 NOS buttons over 25 yrs. & got great satisfaction out of fitting them. They cost me $100 each at the time,& still seem good value to me. I hope the FE bonnet inserts are next on the agenda. Keep up the good work guys.
