It looks like HK. Need to see the mounting pad from a different angle.

Thanks Col,
interesting as thie mirror was on my FE. the mirror screws in (male fitting) to the threaded FE/FC bracket.
the more i look at it, the more i think it's ugly.
I may use a glue on commodore type mirror
Cheers

I dont think it is HKTG as they did not have the recess in the back as the picture you have got any way way to big and ugly for your project Ed!! Brett

Anything that big is also going to foul on the sun-visors. Take the arc through which they fold down into consideration when you stick the mirror on.

I've got a HT mirror head in my car. As has been mentioned, the visor hits it when down. That pic is a HK mirror, I just looked in my NEW,BIG garage. HT & HG don't have the recess & the adjuster moves front to back, not sideways. Colin.

I think you will find it is off early Valiant - AP5 or around there.

I'd tend to agree with Ken. My VE Regal Sedan and my VF Regal 770 Series Coupe both had mirrors very similar to that.

hey guys,
does anybody have the measurements of a std mirror?
I purchased a mirror assuming it would fit but the thing is a little larger than anticipated and does get in the way of the visors.
Cheers

thank you Nick, yep was referring to a stock item.
I haven't got any holes in my headlining and am a little reluctant to put some in for the mirror. Since I have a modified interior i figured a more interesting mirror could be put in, but it has to look right.
Cheers

Thats understanable Ed, I wouldn't want to go cutting holes either... Just wondering if anyone one does a windscreen mounted one...although it's been years since I have seen one....the visors would miss then...wouldn't they??

Nick,
I bought one which can stick to the screen (using a late model sticky thing)however it must be fairly low to miss or you fold the visors flat then down.
OK for driver but passengers will send your mirror askew everytime.
hmm I will decide, the new mirror is 22.5cm long.
Cheers

Hey Ed, I have the Commodore mirror and have found it not to be a problem... the odd passenger bumps the rear view mirror now and again but hey WTF how hard is it to adjust it back. The mirror allows you to see the whole range through the back of the van just nicely, Day night works great and no holes in the hood lining. Cheers JB

Hey thanks for the info JB,
I've decided to use the mirror after all... could not be bothereed chasing around the "perfect' one.
can u tell me if your mirror has a removable sticky back bracket?? or clip etc. I have a bracket with an adaptor and this apparently slides into a factory GMH or Ford stick on mount.
Cheers
Ed

The guy who fitted the windscreen just asked me for the mirror and glued it on for me... He said that if the windscreen broke a big chunk of glass would go with the mirror it is that strong. Hope this helps mate. Jason.

Hey Jas,
Kind of.. I don't doubt it's strength, just need to know if there is a clip or bracket holding the sticky back?
Cheers

I just had a look at mine and there is a bright metal piece that is glued to the screen and then the black part of the mirror fits ti this. There is then a black clip that hold the lot together, it looks like a clip that would allow the mirror to come off but it would be a real pain to get it back on again. When I got the commodore, I just picked the glass off the mirror stalk and then cleaned the glue of the bright piece. Thats the best I can do as I don't have a digital camera mate. Cheers Jas.
