Hi i reacently drove a VF val coupe, and i was most impressed with the power of the old convertable.
I have seen a HR panel van with a Hemi 265 in it and i was wondering if anyone had done this swap before. Obviously it would not be the easiest mod but im sure it would be a much better swap them the old nissan motor or injecter 202.
thanks for your replies.

Neil,

I had a friend who put 265's in anything and everything. Late 60's Cortina's were his favourite, but he also did LC/LJ Torana's and EH/HR's. The 265 is a strong, powerful engine, and with only minor mods to head, cam, exhaust, carby's (Square Bore Holley's were almost always used) , he could get these cars into the low 12's with truck like reliability and only using a 3 speed gearbox!

The only issue was that the 265 engine is about (from my memory but someone might confirm Huh ) 3" longer than the Red motor. This always meant firewall mods - in the LC/LJ the changes required were fairly drastic.

Cheers,

Craig.
