What is the best way to polish fine scratches off a quarter vent window please?

I googled this question for you and got these results

Looks like its easily achieved, with the right tools, with recommendations to use something called Ceria (cerium oxide) or the more readily available Jeweller's rouge (iron oxide) and a light buff.

Rabbitoh,

I brought this up with Ralph at Ralph Moore autoglass, he doesnt recommend polishing glass as it distorts the optics, altho a quarter window is hardly going to matter in this case.

In the end I got 2 new quarter windows made and fitted.

if my memory serves me correctly it was $129.

not sure how much polishing kits are worth or the results you can get.

If you are going to strip and rechrome the quarter vent windows then it shouldn't be too hard to get some good s/h glass to use.

I polished my side glass with brasso and a soft sponge buff pad on my 5" grinder pryer to tinting and they came up great. I do agree with Ed in one way, as I had a scratch polished out of my windscreen by a so called pro and had to replace it in the end as in certain places thing where all bent out of shape.
