I was wondering if anyone had a list of colours that FC Utes came in? I hear there was only about 7 or so.

Hey Mitch,

As per Ken McLean's post earlier in the year the original ute colours are;

Quote "from Jan 59, the ute came out in Granite Grey, Cambridge Blue, Adobe Beige, Cape Ivory & Duchess Green.
From May 59, India Ivory, Skyline Blue, Ice Green, Adobe Beige, Cape Ivory & Ascot Grey. " Unquote

I have added the GMH Paint codes and formulas as below;

Granite Grey - 286-0700(Released 1956)

Note: Release Date is first listing in the
paint chart. Some colours were re-released with
marginally different formula's.

I can supply swatches of the above colours if required.

If you go here http://www.eposode.com/fc_final/Flash/FE_Ute%20change%20color.html you will find you can 'paint' an FE ute in all of these colours except Granite Grey.

Cheers,

Craig.

Craig A, you ARE the man!! I was going down to the paint shop tomorrow to see if they could mix up some Skyline Blue for my FC ute, & then you supply us with the right recipe. THANK YOU!! Saves me alot of stuffing around.

4hammers,

You should bear in mind that these recipes are for the original enamel paint and not for acrylic - that might result in some colour variation.  Best to point that out when you get to the paint shop so they can take it into account if necessary.

Hi RET,
Apparently you can get it in the original DUCO. That is what I will try & do. Didn't get to the paint shop today, I went down to a local wreckers & had a look at some FC's (including a panelvan) & a FE (Got the numbers for Ken). When I go down to get the paint, I will post my results.
