Just  wondering if anyone could give me a rough idea what a FC sedan tips the scales at? l could probably get the weight of a stock standard one from one of my w/shop manuals, but with all the years of chopping & changing that would be all out the window.
l weighed my HG ute before the driveline went into my FC,it came in at a hefty(l thought)  1700 kgs.But everyone still tells you utes are light! They all used to say "No wonder it lights the tyres so easily!"
l'll take it down to the weighbridge when its on the road, but l just thought someone might be able to give me a head start. lf it makes it any more accurate,my car had a sideplate with triples & all the gear, sillycar 5-speed,l.s.d banjo, stock front-end with booster & 13" dragways.  Thanks guys.

I took my sedan to get weighed and came in at 1440 kg.
Thats with v6 engine and auto etc etc and then realized it include two spare wheels in the boot, a full tank of petrol and me in the front seat!

my wagon weighed 1180 with a phone book in it, that was with the red motor, and a 3 spd all synchro.

just to give you a idea sigmas, coronas and datsun bluebirds were all much lighter than todays 4 cyl cars, a old corona weighs less than a new corolla and the old bluebird was lighter than a new pulsar.
my beefed up 6 seater, 6 cyl FC weighed 5 kg less than the sporty little sigma GSR.
Technology is heavy stuff.
It should be a lttle more now with extra speakers, amps, supercharger and auto.

My FE sedan is registered at 1075 kg. That is a heavy HG ute, my 6cyl HT prem is registered at 1240 kg.

Hey Bent8,

The FC workshop manual lists the following kerb weights) converted at 2.2 poiunds per kilogram):

Standard sedan:  2,389 lb  - 1,086kg
Special sedan:  2,412 lb - 1,096kg
Utility - 2,393 lb - 1,088kg

1,700kg seems pretty weighty for an HG of any variety I would have thought.  That equates to about 1.67 tons (in the old language)
