The rocker cover is my favourite thing in the whole garage and part of the reason I bought the wagon to put it on, I havent seen any others like it, the fins are massive, it almost looks home made and appears to have a fj specail badge in the mould.
I am looking for a side plate for it too.
the rocker cover was bought from a guy I was working with, his parents had a wrecking yard I think in Budewoi, he told me he had a red motor alloy rocker cover, when he brought it in to work this is what it was, I told him it wouldnt fit my motor and he said he would just take it back, I said "nut, I'll buy it anyway" it was about $25
if they are desirable maybe it might be worth making a mould of it and casting some, I havent done this before but it might be worth looking into

Flamin J, there are a couple of rocker covers on ebay at the mo, one has fins and Dandenong cast into it.  They come up pretty regularly with lost of different styles and castings.

As for alloy sideplates, line up behind the rest of the grey motor collectors, they are hard to come by, as are timing covers and sumps, I have never seen one on ebay.

Cheers,

Ok then - so what I saw in "Cruizin" mag from the Toowoomba swap meet was pure gold then....

Mental note - book leave to go to Toowoomba next year!

FCCOOL - buying the car for the rocker cover - hell, I would have bought the garage!

Seriously though - re the mold concept - maybe you should do a poll and see if we could all split the cost involved in manufacture - I, for one, would be interested.

Cheers

I finally got to start moving my gear into my new shed yesterday , after being shedless for the last 18 months it was better than christmas !
It is still a big mess , but I took some photos anyway , however I am too technologically retarded to be able to post them , so can someone post them for me  ? ? ?
