Speco floor shifter to suit Holden 3 speed crash box

I purchased this item with the intent to fit to my vehicle, however have decided to retain the column shift.

I do not know a lot about these type of shifters, however this item looks to be a "period accessory", and has a chrome shaft, wooden knob with stainless "speco" on top.

The linkages and bushes all look good and the shifter would look good in any 50s or 60s vehicle where a floor shift is to be used with a bench seat.

I can post photos if anyone is interested.

Here are some photos of the Speco shifter.

I haven't cleaned it, although the wooden knob and chrome shaft would just require a polish up.  The bottom locating plate just has a layer of dust stuck to some lubrication grease, just needs a little degreaser.

There is a gate and spring that requires effort to push accross to R or 1 (just like on the column) and makes the shifter pop into nuetral after disengaging 1st.

It then allows for easy shifting between 2nd and 3rd without worrying about all the linkage problems.

All the bushes and linkages look in good condition.  I very much doubt it has been used in the last 15-20 years.

These items are fairly rare these days, and hard to come by in good condition.

I believe it suits FX - EJ crash boxes.

This looks like a Speco "Centreshift" to suit a 3 spd. synchro box.

I've had a look at the Speco web page.  They make 3 types: FX-EJ, EJ - EH and HD-HG

Its not EJ-EH, and it does look like a synchro model, yet the mounting plate is different.  I am happy to stand corrected as I can only go on what the seller told me and this unfortunately could be wrong.

The page doesnt show a picture of the FX-EJ, although I would assume it would be similar to EJ-EH (and HR).

I'm sure someone will correct me or I will find out.

it looks to me like an all  synchro centre shifter.  The mounting holes are where you bolt it onto the top of the box where the extention housing bolts on. I ran one of these on a ht and a hq both with all synchro boxes. Didnt make the cars go faster but the gear shifting was more precise
