Hello

Have just reconnected wiring in my FC ute after installing a late model grey engine (ej or eh).

After starting; the gen light on dash goes out but after about 5 minutes running it comes on and the regulator starts making a "ticking" noise. Quite hot to the touch as well!

I have kept the original Bosch regulator but have a Lucas one to replace it with if needed.

Is there any major difference between the original equipment Bosch and the later Lucas (RB 310).

Can/Do many things go wrong with regulators?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
Just remember, Lucas to Lucas & Bosch to Bosch (Gennie & regulator). They don't mix very well.
Hope that helps.

Hey Paddock basher,
You may need to polarise the generator (I'm not joking). It tells you how to do this in the workshop manual.

Cheers,
