Hi Mike,
Reverse lights were available as an accessory on all FE and FC models.

Mike,

I'm a bit curious about your comments about "fixing" them.

In the tail-light assembly, the hole where the reverse light socket goes is covered by a plastic cover.  If yours has got the globe sockets in the holes, you may have had reverse lights fitted at some time.

The reverse light switch sits atop the steering column just above the streeting box, and is activated by the gear-change mechanisms as they exit the steering column.

If you have either of these (the globe sockets or the switch) then it may be worth trying to fix them.  After all, an accessory is an accessory, and they all enhance our cars.

I agree with Martin,
i have some working on my FE and i sure do like showing them off, such as our club meet at the drivein the other week ( even if its only me that notices)
adds a bit extra light backing up my dark driveway too.
cheers
Scott

ps mine werent working either when i purchased the car due to rats eating/nawing at the wiring in the engine bay.well worth the excercise.

There should only be 2 wires visible at the switch, they are orange and green, if it is just these that have been nibled through they should be simple enough to repair.

Point taken, I will investigate whether my wag does in fact have the option and if so, I will make the effort repair them.  Another item on a long list Smiley

Mike
You are right it's another item on a long list, but when you have fixed them it will be one less item to do so therefore your project it getting closer to being finished. Grin

Cheers
Sarge

P.S besides it will be worth it in the long run.

No reverse lights, so I do end up with one less job.

It is getting closer to being finished, its a nice feeling to know that the light at the end of the tunnel isnt a freight train (although I still have licencing to get through Smiley
