Part number M31957. Price when new: 1/3/6. That equates to $2.35. By my reckoning, an inflation rate like that makes my Manual Air-Chief (45 Guineas when new, or $94.50) worth $12,305.10, and my Nasco Warmaride heater (24/15/0, or $49.50) worth $6,445.53. Neither of them are NOS, so any offer over $2000 for either of them will be considered The bloke in Vic who makes the repro Nasco Filguards could probably do a line in these. Obviously there's enough demand in the market if this one started at $19.99 and is now at $306.00. It's little wonder Ebay is killing swap meets if there are people willing to shell out crazy ducats like that. cheers RET

Trev, You're right, great if your the seller. I'm out in the garage right now with an old Coke can and a small hammer trying to make a number plate frame with a Holden script on it. What a gold mine!!! And by the way RET, I have an automatic AWA radio. ALLLLLLRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIGHT. By your reckoning I'm going to sell it on eBay and buy Rawanda. Always wanted to own a small African country. Gotta love a nude black african Craig.

I've just realised that 1/3/6 is the price per pair. So that makes my Air-Chief and Warmaride worth double the price I previously quoted. So $2,000 each is a bargain.
Especially now that the license plate is at $370 (4.30pm) and still has a couple of hours to run.
cheers RET

OK, so Rawanda is gone, as my radio has also doubled in price. Now I'm looking at Somalia. Lots of guns I know, but even more nude black africans. WOOOOHOOOOOOO. And Emu, you're welcome for holidays anytime. Do you own a gun?

Nice suggestion Craig, but as a large, flightless bird..... the thought of a country filled with black dudes with spears is a little disconcerting! I don't wanna get eaten..... at least not in that context!

You don't want Rwanda. Rwanda is way too f-ed up, and Somalia is not much better. Now Burundi, on the other hand.... havagoodweegend, especially if you find a NOS plate frame kicking around your parts bin...

Thanks RET, sounds like good advice. But do Burundians wear clothes And for Emu, are large flightless birds a delicacy there?

Kiwi,
Your timing's impeccable. NSW Club meeting on the 9th, club run prolly 21st or 28th.
Oh, and there's 15 minutes before that auction closes, and it's cracked $400. Unbelievable.

Kiwi: If you want to come around my place I suppose I could find time to beat you up The auction for that thing has just ended at $400.70 WTF? Mind you, a bit of a cruise through the winner's (in every sense of the word) previously won items suggests he doesn't mind slappin' down the bling bling when it comes to stuff he wants: EH Radio blanking plate: $212 ( link) Could they possibly be worth that much? Surely most EHs came with one of these, since radios were accessories? Mine certainly did, and I didn't pay $400 for the whole car.... EH Bonnet Strip: $189.50 ( link) Dunno, but you never see die-cast FE/FC stuff for that sort of money. "A fool and his money are soon partying..." cheers RET

Trev,
There's little doubt that your FC is worth more broken up n sold 4 bits. Unfortunately some people have realised this and make a living off it. Thankfully, that's not what most of us r about. I felt guilty having a donor vehicle for "Hilda". Thank God for Sarge who has grabbed the donor and is going the full resto! He has given my conscience a break.
