Came upon an FC standard wagon on the way home from work.Checked it out and as many numbers as i could.Previous owner had drilled a large hole in ID plate to mount a washer bag(like in mustangs)
The only numbers I could see where FC 219 186M
Is this a low numbered wagon?
Chassis FC 35338 M
Engine not original, was a J series.Car had a darkish green interior and was light green in colour, couldnt see the numbers.

Hey Geoff...
Any chance of a pic...? Would love to know what colour it is. Was it registered? I guess if you've not seen it before, the chances of running into it again are slim...!?

Cheers

Hi Les.The car is only 10 minutes from home,I will get a photo tomorrow.Guy wants $2500 for it,I think it is worth $400 as it needs major rust repairs, but has door pulls, parcel shelf,Taxi bar.
I would like to know how rare these cars are today and if it might be worth saving.

Cheers Geoff

Ps It probably only needs 4 doors ,1 bonnet,2 guards,2 sills!   lol

Geoff,

Despite the low number it's actually a very late '59 FC.  Until very late in FC production, all wagons came out of the Adelaide factory.  Melbourne commenced making (as opposed to just assembling) them very late in the piece, and this one was manufactured and assembled in Melbourne.

Sounds like it's identical to Les' FC-219.

cheers

The car would be the same colour as Les's with the same interior - that is Ice Green with Dravo Green interior.  There were not many options for different colours on the standard models.
The cars were both made at about the same time

G'day guys...
Just letting you know, from the pics Geoff sent me, and to my untrained eye, the cars are pretty similar. The one Geoff found has some NASCO gear on it and it goes, but apart from that they look pretty similar...

Geoff's one...

Mine...

Maybe they look slightly different because of the different light...? Both pretty rough too...Wink
Cheers

Nice looking wagons. Both are worth saving.
Anyone know where I can find a cheap one?

Geoff,

After you had it sand blasted and powdercoated, you could deliver it to me.

(Jedi mind trick...Did it work?)

Follow this link to the NSW page:

http://www.fefcholden.org.au/nsw/

and go to "Tech Data". If you have the engine number and chassis number (found on the inner guard above the steering box), you shall be able to find out all the details of your car.
