I asked the seller a question about the car being a 215 or a bussiness sadan. This is the answer I got.
Dear cajerridoc,

You asked:
"Can you please clarify what car it is. A business sedan is a 217 and a standard sedan is a 215."

"This IS the 215 but it IS a Business Sedan - made before the standard 215 - this model comes without radio or blinkers - not many sold so they scraped this model then made the standard 215 with blinkers and radio."

Now, I have an FE 215 without original blinkers or radio in my collection, so by this logic it is a rare business sedan? I think not.

The sticker says "I'd rather push my Ford than drive a Holden". I agree, I'd rather they pushed their Ford than drive MY Holdens!

Nitpicking?  Maybe.  Would it be nitpicking to ask "Is it a genuine A9X or a Sunbird with a flare kit?"  If it's important to you as an interested buyer then it's not nitpicking.

Anyway,  I think the seller has erroneous end of stick.  The Business Sedan was introduced in 1953, but before the FJ was released.  Both the FJ and the FE had a Business Sedan variant throughout their entire model run.  So it makes no sense that this car could somehow be both.  Even the FE Preliminary Parts Catalogue (that was published before the car was released) shows 3 distinct models: 215 Standard, 217 Business and 225 Special Sedan.  None of the Standard or Business Sedans ever came equipped with radio or blinkers - 48, FJ, FE or FC.

The Business Sedan was scrapped, but in late 1958, during the FC.

In any case, by virtue of the 4th photo where the driver's side pillar can be seen, it's a 215.  A 217 should have a light switch on that pillar.

cheers
