Hi all,

Is there a way of telling if a motor is genuine to a specific model?  I have a grey out of a FJ ute, engine number 131686, would that be the engine for that model?

Thanks

Peter

pete,
you could try contacting an fx/fj club . they would have some sort of decoder that could tell you if its genuine or has been replaced.   good luck

Thanks for your replies.  I have had another confirmation on the build date also, another code on the side of the engine is L 16 3, which I was told means 16th December 1953 in this case, so Gary you were spot on!!

Thanks

OK this complete FJ motor and 3 speed box is available for sale, what price could I expect to get for it in your opinion?  It has been unused for quite a long time and is 'dry seized', but the bore is good, so should free up OK.

Thanks
