The 10th Nats Committee is working hard to ensure the Jindabyne Nationals are memorable for all entrants, focussing on providing a quality event with excellent value goodies bag. Entrants will receive a full-weekend package of meals vouchers (excluding breakfasts & Saturday lunch), official program, event shirt with logo and individual entrant mementos.
We're also hoping to provide entrants with a selection of quality 10th Nats merchandise to order prior to the event. The list above is just a sample to gauge the level of interest among entrants, should we make the items available. Final prices, photos & order forms will be posted if there is enough interest.
Cheers, Tim.

Tim, there wasn't a box for "none of the above". As a family attending with 4 adults I can tell you that this will be a very expensive weekend for us and I very much doubt that we will have extra money for souvenirs, much as I would like to.

Ken,
In fairness to Tim (and the ACT Club), they're looking for a rough guide to demand for these sorts of items. If you (or anyone else) foresees that you have no interest in these items, then don't vote.
The demand for them is dictated by the number of people who do want them, rather than the number of people who don't, if you see what I mean.
cheers RET

I also think that while the initial cost of these Nationals might be a bit higher than we're used to, I think if you work out the total cost of participation (ie how much you spent on food during the course of the last Nats*) that is included in the price, it's actually a pretty good deal. cheers RET * Assuming of course, you could find somewhere open after midday (if at all) to buy food from over the Easter weekend. Bloody Queensland, backward god-forsaken hole of a place.

Thanks for your response Ken, and thanks also RET for commenting on our behalf. As a compromise, I decided to include the option of "none of the above" and sacrifice the offer of 10th Nats socks (I know, hundreds of you will be devastated). This way, we can gauge "no" votes aswell, if nothing else to help us keep track of the total of potential entrants out there have actually seen the offer, and of course to count those that aren't interested. Once items seem to have gained some support, we'll confirm quotes that we have (as a lot of prices are based on quantity). We'll post an order form online and update the "merchandise" page on the Nats website to include actual pictures of the items. Unfortunately, we can only offer items on a pre-order basis rather than having bulk quantities available at the Nats itself. Of course, we appreciate that everyone has financial commitments and that budgeting for a huge event like the Nationals is an effort for everyone. There's entry, meals, accommodation, getting there, let alone the money/time/effort you pump into your car since the last Nationals. It would be awesome if everyone on this network could meet up in Jindabyne! I can assure everyone that the 10th Nats Committee is dedicated to making the 10th Nats something special. We've negotiated an excellent meals package (try comparing the prices of all meals separately for the whole family in a resort town over Easter). Entrant goodies bags will contain quality items, that we hope will be long treasured and are stoked to offer entrants the above range of souvenirs. We would hate for anyone to get there, love the Nats (as we all do) and kick themselves for not getting that little something to remember it by (let alone kick themselves for missing the Nats itself). Personally, I'm hopeless in that I buy anything that has "FC" on it... and can't wait for each Nats (the next three especially). So I hope everyone can bring the whole family along to what will be an awesome holiday, spent catching up with mates across all states. Over the last ten years, I'm always excited by the idea of getting so many FE-FC's in the same place at the same time. I even don't mind admitting that usually, my FC is in about the worse condition among those that attend, but I'm just so keen to be there that it doesn't matter. All cars, regardless of condition are welcome - the Nats a festival, not just a car show! Finally, I know I probably don't need to confirm that all funds raised thru entries and merchandise sales go directly back into hosting the 10th Nats. The value is going to be hard to beat and the 10th Nats hard to forget. I know, my bias is shameless See you in the Snowies. Cheers, Tim.

Hi guys, To be honest, I think we expected a little bit of "sticker shock" :owith the Nationals pricing, but........... when you actually break it down and look at what you get for your money we believe that it's quite good value. Ken, we appreciate that the nats weekend is going to cost you quite a bit, and we have made a huge effort with our negotiations to keep costs under control, and we're confident that you won't be disappointed with the value for money. Thank you all for your comments. See you in the snowies Cheers, Graham Pryce 10th Nationals Event Director

Guys, don't get me wrong, I'm not really complaining about the cost of the Nats themselves. I've done the analysis and agree that the package is good value. I also am confident that the ACT guys and girls will do an absolutely fantastic job of running the nats and I wouldn't miss it for the world. My comment was purely based on my own realisation that my family are all adults now and they cost more than they did when they were just toddlers. I must be getting old Ken

Kiwi & Ret Do not let these Queenslanders in on this one, but you know the truely worst things about living up here in the "NOT" so Smart State It is full of Queenslanders, They have a crappie league team called the Bronco's. They drink XXXX & Metho, and the worst of all is they put carrot on hamburgers. Anyway had better stop hijacking this post with meaningless crap. Cheers Jim

Or - if you can tear yourself away from the wet-suit style stubbie holder - have the best of both worlds (ie the AM caffeine and the PM barley & hops) in this combination travel mug and stubbie holder. Just try not to lose the lid whilst using as beer-holder. (Speaking from personal experience...) And no, Nicko, you couldn't get a sit-down meal (KFC doesn't count) that side of the Tweed. Our wives and girlfriends had to go back to NSW to have a night out on Sunday after the Nats Show and Shine. What's up with that? For a Tourist destination, the Gold Coast has a weird way of supporting visitors... cheers RET
