Hey Guys,
A mate of mine has seen over the weekend a visor which seems close to the nasco design. The difference is, that the main metal is actually blue perspex. It has stainless clamps like the Nasco and brushed metal edging too.
The bloke who has it claims that it is an original after-market accessory from the period.
I have never seen one myself, does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Is it genuine and what would be a rough market price for a good one.

G'Day Emu,
I have seen these on FJ's but never on FE/FC. Someone on here may be able to help (RET?) If you need an answer straight away you should contact Ken McLean via a PM or email.
Cheers,
Craig.

Hi. I have seen them too, but not on an FE or FC. They were from a company called "Sunshade" (Original name ) & I have seen them on FX FJ's & on some of the English cars. There is an old Vauhall (similar shape to the FJ), that sits in a paddock in Oatlands, TAS. It has one fitted & is perfect, but the fella will not sell it off the car. He is "Going to restore it" (I have heard that before). Regards, Rob J

Hi Emu, I've never seen a perspex sunvisor on a FE-FC either, but have seen a fair few on FXs and Js. If you're talking about the one on ebay, i'd prefer a "NASCO" one! Regards ACE

Thanx for the info guys.
The one on ebay is the one that was described to me. A mate of mine bought a grey motor from this bloke and saw the visor there on the weekend. The guy said it was in fact for an FE/FC.
I was asking coz the guy said if I was interested I could make an offer before he put it on Ebay. He didn't leave me much time!
Having seen it on Ebay, I'm glad I didn't drive for an hour to look at it! I'm with you ACE, I'll keep my Nasco.
Thanks again.

These were a very common early 50's accessory but like all others - I have never seen one for an FC. I would personally not be convinced that it will fit an FC until I saw it on a car!!!!!!!!!! be aware that NOT saying that it does not fit an FC mind you It may do.

I'm with the rest of you guys.....have not seen one on a FE/FC. If it did fit FE/FC, it would make it a much rarer item than the Nasco version and would certainly be a unique talking point for your car. Regards Alex
