I have got myself a nice set of 4 6JJx13 ROH Splat style mags. Going by the 6JJx13 I would have assumed that they were a 6 inch wide rim, I threw a tape measure over one and it was 7 inches lip to lip. Can anyone enlighten me as to what is going on here?  Huh

Hi Stinky
Same thing here , years ago I ordered the "widest wheels" I could get in 13" off Bob Jane's , when they turned up they were classed as 7" but are actually
7 3/4".  Story the guy told me was 7" were the widest legally they could sell but munufacturers "fudge" a little. Sounded a little odd , but ? ? ?.

Stinky,

Yer don't measure across the outside of the lip.  Yer should be runnin' yer ruler over the inside of the lip, just outside the safety rim bead.  That's where the tyre sits in the rim.  Yer'll find that yer wheel is 1" narrower, agreeing with the numbers stamped on the rim.

Cheers

Thanks Spinner, I had the same conversation with an ex-ROH worker yesterday.
