I have a short somewhere in my FE ute fuel gauge circuit that causes the gauge to register full when the break pedal is pushed!
Can anyone suggest a good place to start /technique for fault-finding this?

Mal,

I reckon this will be a bad earth somewhere on the dash. The brake circuit is completing its path to ground through the fuel gauge. Recheck ALL earth connections at the rear of the dash.

Alternately you may have mis-wired the dash when you put it back together.

Cheers,

Craig
