That would be a cool car and stronger than a sedan with the roof off. A member of our club used to cruise around delivering papers in a car just like that in the mid 60's. (Might even be the same car?) I have a pic somewhere....stay tuned.

alex the pic is from a 65 mag not much info wth it
but it does say it "was used as a newspaper combo for a sydney daily paper".

hi alex certainly look very much alike. cant have been too many around in sydney. ute proprotions are just right for a convertable. dale i didnt have to dig at all...a fellow lent me a handful of 60s mags...more pics to come yet    |

More than likely different cars - painted headlight rims on the lower picture - chrome units at the top. Front quarters on the second one, no quarter vents on the top one. And number plate in the first one starts with a "C", but the second car looks more likely to be a "B".
When it rained these things must have been the biggest bathtub around

Car #2: BMW-243 (appears to read).
As well as the other differences already spotted. Base colour appears different too.
