I thought I posted this one a few days ago, but I can't see any posts after 11th Dec. Anyway, I need help reinstalling my roof lining in the FE. I didn't remove it so I have no idea how to put it back. I think I can handle installing the ribs and around the screens etc, but the "serated" edges around the doors are confusing. Would the pile of thin stainless trim that came with the car be used here? It doesn't seem to fgo anywhere else. Any advice would be appreciated, pics would be good too. Thanks.

Glenn, start in the centre by installing the thin rods onto the roof rail where the roof light is mounted, then work back and forward installing the thicker wires until all are done. The alligator clips along the sides need to be straightened (see workshop manual for more detail), then roof lining is stretched and tucked in behind clips along with the windlace and the whole lot is held firm by lightly tapping in the alligator clips with a cloth covered mallet (so as not to mark the headlining). Once this is done the the windscreen openings can be glued in place.  The whole thing is not particularly easy with an old headlining because they get brittle and dont stretch well.  email me for more detail if you wish      Ken
