Hi all,

i'm seeking advice as to what others have done to replace or rejuvenate the fibre board that goes at the back of the boot behind the rear seat and the (what looks like to me) heavy cardboard used under the dash on the firewall.

Can these be retreated to get the waxy look and colour back?

Or are there replacements available?

Also, where can you get those metal serrated clips that hold the cardboard to the firewall?

Thanks in advance.

A trimmer should be able to source the board for the firewall and behind the rear seat.
I have plenty of the original clips in my collection of stuff. I’ll look them up.

Thank you again Ken.

Also, would anyone recommend a trimmer? I'd prefer Melbourne south east suburbs if possible but not essential.

TIA

For the firewall insulator, go to Martin Frigo (Classic Gloveboxes?).  He might be able to do the rear seat partition too.

Apparently Classic Gloveboxes are no more unfortunately.

I've been doing a web search with no luck and found a previous post that confirmed they are MIA
http://forum.fefcholden.club/index.php?topic=21426.new

In that post there is a link to an ebay site that is still active that sells repo firewall boards at $500.

I'm still to track down a trimmer so any suggestions are welcome.

Cheers

I used2.5mm thick black plastic mining sheet ,came from mining supplies at Lithgow ,strong rigid sheet, laid it flat with some weights ,went over it with hot air gun,it remained flat as it comes in a roll ,cut shape with disc in angle grinder using timber guide ,made holes with wad punch ,very happy ..Vern

You can get trim board from Daleys who are in most states, this is the closest material to original that I have found and use it for door trims, glovebox liners and boot boards.
I contacted Classic Gloveboxes a couple of years ago expressing interest in their firewall board patterns as I heard they were winding up, they told me they still going and that is the last I heard.

Martin Frigo, that is Obsolete Rubber Co. Daleys or your local trimmer should be able to help though.
