I seen on eBay someone selling these brackets and they look pretty good to..I’ve seen some reproduction sets over the years and I think these ones look more original so far..they come painted Matt Black or plain gal but my question is if you were a purist doing a restoration who would go with the unpainted ones..in the accessories of the week section CustomFC has the accessories list and there’s a photo of one NOS bracket and Mudflap ready to bolt on in original box as they were sold back then and it is unpainted. I know it’s all down to personal taste but it would be interesting to know if they were fitted unpainted at the dealer when new..

All the original ones I’ve seen have been weathered galv. Presume you are referring to the rears. Hell they are just a shape cut from 20# galv sheet, easy to make. It’s the rubber bits got me foxed as NOS ones go for a motza.

My memory might be shot, but aren't the rubber bits repro'd by Obsolete Rubbers (Martin Frigo, 2 Glencara St Avondale Heights Victoria 3034, Phone: (03) 93178725, Mobile 0412941799)? His website shows only the boot mats, but he does some odds and ends like Warmaride outlets too.

Cheers,

The rear mud flap brackets are cad plated from new

The plating corrodes over time leaving the appearance of plain steel

Thanks for the reminder Harv, got a couple of floor mats from him.

I’ll have to look up cad plating, thanks Ken.
