OT Struggle out of the shed tonight

See if you can struggle out of the shed tonight and look at the night sky.  Mars is visible to the naked eye this week, and tonight will be the closest to Earth it has been for 59,600 years.  It can be seen clearly even from areas with relatively high light pollution, and unless you live to be close to 300 the opportunity to see the red planet without a telescope will not come again.

Mars travels (unsurprisingly) across the night sky from east to west, and is just a little north of directly overhead between midnight and 1am.  It appears brighter than any star around it, and has a slightly orange tinge.  You can't miss it

Hi all.
Yes, RET. I agree, it is a nice sight. I was down at my parents place on the Forestiers Penninsula (TAS, on the way to Port Arthur) & as there are only 3 other houses within 1 klm, there was very little light pollution. It appears so bright & orange, you cannot mistake it. Beautiful.
Also, down there it is possible to lie back with a beer & look up into the night sky & observe the various satellites that hum around Earth. They look like very slow moving shooting stars.
