Are FC Front Brake Backing Plates the same as FB/EK?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

John,

The dimensions of the FB/EK brake backing plate are different from FE/FC, to accommodate the wider shoes and drums.  You can't put FB/EK shoes on FE/FC backing plates - the wider shoes won't engage properly on the anchor pin and the wheel cylinder adjusters.  And then if you try fitting an FB/EK drum to FE/FC brakes, the drum will scrape on the backing plate before it seats on the hub.

Remember: if your Holden's not leaking oil, it doesn't have any.
